Studio & Recording Logbook

Studio & Recording Diary

During a break for recording (like this), I'm of the opinion that it might be interesting for you to know, whats going on with XBloome in the meantime.
As a result I will report about our work, because so much creative, logistic and technical challenges take place in the background, that range from the new recording program, new multi-track mixer, new sounds (more tell me on the site yet ...) to the design of CD cover.

This logbook should give you an insight into the genesis of our new album.

We will try keep you informed in this way.

Audio recording with GNU/Linux

Our album "X marks the spot" is going to be some sort of proof-of-concept that Free Software and GNU/Linux are ready for prime time when it comes to creating musical art. The new Drupal-based XBloome website already shows that it doesn't always have to be Photoshop and Mac to create good looking designs.

We're working with a very tight budget, and just like our first album, this one will also be a low-to-no-budget production - and we'll do our best to make it sound awesome as it should.

Behind the scenes...

Just like any other band out there, we stumble across several things in our daily struggle to create and share our music.
Often, we encounter tricky situations where we figure out a way to make things work, or find out interesting things about all kinds of topics involved when having a band.

We'd like to share some of that knowledge and experience with others, in the hope to spare others some time to find it out the hard way, or simply to document how we did it, in case we forget ourselves. ;)
